As the sun shines brighter, warming the earth, springtime approach's with the sounds of the birds chirping, and tiny buds popping up on the trees, flowers and grass while whispering breezes flutter our hair, feeling the rush of satisfaction at a new seasons arrival. Suddenly you find yourself thinking up great plans of "things you need to do" this springtime season. Thinking SPRING is here. Many of us plan a garden or a rummage sale, trips to the lake, fun summer activities and the dreaded "Spring cleaning". The planning process can be fun but getting started is often the hardest part and sometimes procrastination ends in disaster as tasks go unfinished and our well laid plans-do not get done.
Ways to beat Procrastination
- If you do not procrastinate when trying to find solutions to your problems you will get more accomplished.
- Commit yourself to tasks and obligations that you know you can actually accomplish. Do not commit to something you really do not want to do
- Plan ahead
- Get Organized
- Make Lists of Things to Do
- Make tasks easier by breaking large tasks down into smaller tasks
- Plan your time
- Make a schedule with contact numbers for each task
- Get people to help you complete the task if it is too large
- Find ways to make your tasks interesting or fun
- Follow through on planning
- Reward yourself for completed tasks, small rewards can confirm positive behavior
