Best Ways to Clean Cast Iron Cookware/Pans
Cleaning your cast iron pans doesn't have to be a major chore. Check out these quick easy ways to clean cast iron pans the right way.
The best and easiest way to clean cast iron cookware is to use hot water (not cold or you could crack the iron) from the faucet and place the pan while still hot after cooking, or you can warm it up if you need to, under the water faucet. Make sure the water is hot and be careful not to put your face too close. When the hot water hits the hot pan steam will rise up-hot steam that can burn you. If you use cold water you could ruin the pan by cracking it. After the steam cools down a bit you can easily scrub the pan with a wooden spoon or scrubber.
Be careful not to burn yourself.
To remove dried on egg residue-Sprinkle some coarse salt into the pan and add a small amount of water to it and scrub the egg residue out.
Season the pan-To season your cast iron pans after cooking you need to put it back on the stove on low heat until the pan is hot, then you can put a small amount of olive oil into a pan and wipe it out with a paper towel.
