8 Tips to be clutter free
Uncluttering your home
Your home should appear roomy and uncluttered yet comfortable and feel like your home. All surfaces should be clean and clutter free. Store frequently used items close and items used rarely into labeled storage containers. As you sort through items-throw away items that are too old and worn out and make a separate box for items to donate to charities in your area.
All items that are alike should be placed with other alike items
Example: If you collect cows, sheep, or chicken nik-nak's you should put all the cows together on one shelf, all the chickens together on another shelf, and all the sheep on another shelf, and so on.
Organize your paper work.
Buy a file cabinet, or portable filing case for important paper (a fireproof filing case is best to protect important documents) . Make a folder for each company you do business with (Electric co, water co, rent, house payments, etc..) Be sure to scan each document into your computer and save a copy to a USB removable storage.
Organize your closet and other storage area's.
Put often used items in the front of the closet and put less used items in labeled totes stacked underneath, in the back or on shelves-whichever you have room for.
Clean Carpet and Floors Daily
Dust, dust mites, bacteria, and other unsanitary things can be nesting in your carpet or on your floors. Clean carpet and flooring daily to prevent them.
Don't let your laundry stack up and get out of hand.
Use colored plastic totes to separate colors and whites as they are used, you can match the tote colors to the colors that will be put in them which will save on sorting time later.
Make a schedule
Scheduling when to do each major job on days when you will have enough time to tackle them and easier jobs on days that you are busy. By scheduling chores on different days you are less likely to become overwhelmed by them.
Maintain your home and yard so that major repairs are not needed in the future.
Make a list of repairs and check your budget to see when you can afford to get each project completed. Then put each project on your chore list.
